Gudrun & Gudrun was founded in 2002 by two Faroese women whose handknit collection is created in the homes of women knitters on the tiny islands located between Iceland and Norway. It can be characterized as both whimsical and natural, known for its open knit structure, natural silhouettes and the beauty of slight irregularities.
The designers vision is to make a difference in the lives of their customers, both with the handknit, female-empowered source of the clothing itself but also with a focus on the environmentally sound use of natural resources. As a result, the collection is produced from untreated and undyed Faroese wool, lambskin and fish leather. While each collection is informed by modern fashion, the designers treasure the isolation of their home and the resulting creativity it enforces.
