Mariam Gvasalia
Mariam Gvasalia is a red-hot phenom of a designer based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her regular appearances at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi have been lauded not only for their trendsetting clothing but also for their striking, handcrafted shoes and boots, must-haves for it-girls and fashion models worldwide.
Gvasalia launched the collection in 2013 after completing her education at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts in leather design. An immediate win at the renowned Be Next fashion competition led to her studying at Milan’s Instituto Europeo di Design and interning at Camper and Handmade by Nia. Her collection has grown to be a stylish, environmental force. The designer donates all post-production material waste to a new Georgian shoe brand and utilizes recycled packaging.
